Not the Sharpest Tool in the Shed

But really, it wasn't my fault! (how many times have you heard that whine before?)

Here's a tidbit from my real-life adventures this past weekend:

Pole-axed: a new definition

In which I decide not to hide in the basement and write on Sunday and instead take my latest bit needing edits and sit out on the back porch to watch the man hard at work communing with his lawn and all the happy tulips bob around on their stems.

We had some great gusty winds and before I knew what was happening the umbrella was lifted up by a gust and the pole end hit me smack right between the eyes and the bridge of my nose.

Where was a video camera when we needed one? I consider myself quite lucky that I'm still somewhat intact even if my brains do feel a bit scrambled. (hush, peanut gallery)

So other than the old "it hurts when I do this" and having to bite my tongue and not come up with a great "you should see the other guy story" all I can say is I should have stayed in the basement.

OMG what an accident!!!!
(no, I'm not laughing, that's just the way my mouth twists)
Seriously, you're lucky you didn't break anything or put an eye out.
But yes, it would have made a great clip on You Tube... *lol*

It's okay to laugh - really. That's what I did as I stood there with blood dripping off my face and the man just looking at me.

Can you believe it?

*looks around shiftily* - should I confess that this morning I just accidently smacked my writing hand into one of the office dividers at work and as we watch my knuckles swell and bruise up I'm trying to remember just how they looked the last time I broke them?

2 down - only one more to go for the law of three.
