Review for Giving Gifts

I started my morning off with an email from a dear friend (giving you up now, hon) clarelondon letting me know that she read a review of Giving Gifts currently available in the Dreamspinner Press Advent Calendar and for individual purchase. It's a lovely review and with the author's permission I've posted a snip of it here as well as a link to her blog.

Full Review here

"This is a very touching story, about a guy that I bonded with immediately as a fellow programmer. Excitement and joy radiates from him due to his friendship with Oscar. His friends can't quite believe the transformation and don't know how to relate to their fellow Tech Support employee anymore. But what Seth comes to find out is that while he was so focused on Oscar, he was ignoring those around him. My heart broke for Seth in this story, and I wanted to see him find the love that he so deserves. I really enjoyed this story, and was surprised by the unexpected turn it takes just when I thought I knew what was going to happen. I love being caught off guard like that and really enjoyed the tale of Seth's night. This is very nice story about accepting yourself and finding the love you deserve."

I'm thrilled she enjoyed the story and I hope you will as well.

Hi to you both, I just *loved* this story! I loved the delicious twist at the end, and also the way that Chrissy's characters are always so plausible and lovable. And you're right, Emily, she really portrayed Seth's anguish and disillusion - and then, as you say, the happiness he deserved.
*sigh from happy reader*

I can't say enough how pleased I am you liked this one *pause for my Sally Field moment* You are Mr. Saroc's biggest fan - (still laughing over that comment about him not being a *cute young native-English-speaking twink* )

Thanks again for telling me (and all the other DSP authors) about Emily's blog.
